Chapter 29-34

Linda had the idea that the North would be much different than the south and there wouldn’t be much racism but right off she learns how wrong she is. People are still cruel in the north and Africans don’t have the same rights. On the train ride Linda was shocked to find out that Africans could not ride in the first class compartment. She also experienced some racism when she arrived in New York. Linda also realized how hard it was for her to have a job as an African. She also learns that her daughter doesn’t have the rights that were promised to her.
