chapter 1-4

These four chapters give a great detail of how poorly slaves were treated.  Jacobs describes as much as she can about where the slaves work, what the masters are like, and how they are treated.  She also talks about her family in there too.  I think that the way she describes things really makes you think and want to do something for those people.  She is very good at doing that in this chapter and it really caught my attention.  I think that even though she is talking about many other people, she is still talking about herself in there.  Every slave then was not treated right except for a few.  Jacobs does mention how she was treated through the way the others were treated.
